This is a historic election.
- For the first time, there is an African-American candidate for President on ANY ticket
- For the first time, there is an African-American Democratic candidate for President
- For the first time, there is female Republican candidate for Vice President on the other ticket
- Regardless of the outcome, there could be either an African-American President, or a female Vice-President.
As a history buff (another one of my favorite topics) and a true fan of novelty (must be the engineering background), here's my question:
Does anyone know if there is an institution that will keep one of these ballots for all people and their future generations to actually see? And please, I mean "see" somewhere other than just on TV. Respectfully, I think we had enough of that in 2000 with the "hanging chads".
So if anyone knows, please let me know. I'd guess the Smithsonian. Ideas, anyone?

That's a great idea.
